That's exactly what came to mind when i first saw the podcast. The leader of Blood Roses looks acceptable but the rest of the gang doesn't fit the whole gang look. On the enforcer side the Praetorians totally fit the mercenary look but the Prentiss Tigers are plain ridiculous.. I mean seriously when was the last time any sort of law enforcement had a cheer leader uniform as their outfit

You have to understand that the company developing the game is from an area where typical gangsters are scarce. In America, gangs look alike: baggy clothes, set colors, a "Do not approach" look in their eyes. In the UK, you have the sophisticated mafias and mobs, and then you have the low-life bunch of budding adolescents who thinking throwing a couple Molotov's into a few stores makes you a gang.
That's where they are getting their ideas from. Not to mention if they do try to make "real" gangs they'd get heat from someone for promoting or misrepresenting a dangerous organization. Even if they copied on small thing, someone would notice and get pissed.

Well then explain to me Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Saints Row 1 and Saints Row 2. They all promote gang violence. G.T.A. has had a couple of contreversies over their games, but Saints Row 1 and 2 have not. Saints Row 1 and 2 both have gangster like gangs and such, and they haven't gotten "heat from someone for promoting or misrepresenting a dangerous organization."

In Saints Row, the gang violence is taken more seriously, but SR doesn't get as much spotlight as GTA on TV, and slips under the radar for the general public. From what I've played, and honestly it wasn't much, the controversies in SR stayed within the gang violence field. GTA covers a series of topics that could easily earn it an R-rating if it were a movie, where as SR would get it for a bit of violence, sensuality, and language. And what I meant by "misrepresenting a dangerous organization" was that if they added an all red wearing gang or an all blue gang, or both, RTW would get heat from people for trying to pull in real gangs lie the Bloods and the Crips. SR almost did that, but the colors of the gangs and their members (like the all Asian gang) did not match with real life gangs and may not be seen as controversial at all. Hopefully that cleared up some misunderstandings.

Honestly I really like the criminal groups. Both of them look really cool.
And damn criminal chicks are HOT! When I saw this video I knew I wanted to be a criminal so I could fight alongside all the hotties. That goth girl with the pigtails is so cute that I could eat her. And that G-Kings girl with the blue hair, wow. Going to be hard to focus on what I'm shooting at since I'll be wanting to stare at all the pretty ladies.
