Default Pay

i hope it will be pay, because it's a guarantee that the developers will continue to deliver more content. and by the looks of it, it will atleast cost to buy it at first. but i would guess that you pay a monthly subscription aswell.

I would rather it be a full priced game with some free add ons and maybe a yearly bought update than a pay-by-the-month kinda deal. I used to play WoW and nothing is more annoying than paying for an x months subscription and not using it to the full. APB seems too much like a pick up and play rather than a grind and invest and bearing in mind that they are trying to go for a CS kinda online game feel, that worked pretty well as a one-off buy with no monthly fees.

By the looks of it from the amount of detail and the features involved I think it would be pay to play. To maintain the servers for that amount of players at least. But who knows!

These are my thoughts on it too. Currently play AoC, payed for a month and barely play it other than a few hours once every few days or so, just feels like such a waste. A free to play game, after buying it at first naturally, seems more suitable for this type of game in my opinion. Or so I'm hoping anyway, as I dunno if this is a game I'd invest much time in if its on a monthly fee, as from what I've read theres nothing outside of the combat other than designing (no social stuff, that is).

This is just a rumor I think, I have no source to back it up but one of my friends said something about there being a more social city kinda like a sandbox where you can talk to your friends and others and then when you take missions it does the matchmaking. Means no lobby's but centralized social hubs could be formed. Again, just speculation but I think it would be a nice idea.

Suppose we'll have to wait and see, sadly hehe. They have said theres an auction house though, for people to sell their logos/designs and such, so hopefully they'll be a few more social things. I'm hoping for some nightclubs personally, all the music drowning out the sound of gunfire... ;D

Another tibit from that E3 impression article I read: "The game will be out in 2010 and they said they’re pursuing a “non-traditional subscription model,” and we aren’t quite sure what that means just yet."

So that means no monthly-fee or free-to-play, thoughts on what it could be?

If its pay by month, i would never be able to get it, if it 4 the xbox too, like im hearin some people saying, im thinkin they cant make it monthly payment. They may get advertisement in the city(like more and more games r doin) and might make u pay for extra content like clothes, but there will most likely be an initial price for the game.
