Ummm could it be because they dodge your shots and were still able to hit you? How could spraying beat aimed fire is my second question?

No offense, but sounds like you got schooled....

No my shots hit but like I said it takes 13 shots with an assualt rifle and if they are rushing you in a zig zag most likely you will only shoot the person 6 times before they shoot you with a shotgun and you die... So Yea 2 in the chest 1 in the head and 3 in the legs now you tell me if thats not cheap...

I hate it when people run and jump around when shooting. It looks so stupid. I much more prefer cover games, where people who do that get shot to hell. I'd love to see some idiot try to run around and dodge bullets in real life like that, they wouldn't last .3 seconds.

Imagine soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan running around in the middle of battle, avoiding cover. It would be very funny to see, but not very smart. Bullets always outrun idiots, always.

I've also noticed more aimbotters use the tactics of running jumping up and down side to side then other players.... I suppose it does not matter if you can aim or not if all you had to is press a key to lock on target

[Currently in beta - Long post incoming]

First, no, there are no 1 hit 'base' weapons. The most powerful rifle will kill in 2. The rocket launcher, with upgrades (expensive/hard to get) will do it however, but obviously requires aim and timing. Do not bother using if you're plagued by lag.

Shooting mechanics in APB are a little all over the place. Not a good sign. The premise and largest component of your game should not also be it's major liability.

Most of the time, it isn't so black and white.

The guns designed to be used at medium range, are currently more than effective between short and long ranges.

And the long range weapons also manage to pull this off.

Granted, the aforementioned medium range weapon does tail off towards 85m (All weapons are useless at 100m because the draw distance deliberately set to not render at this stage). Which leaves a 'whopping' 15m for the long range and high velocity rifles (there's no snipers per say, there is no 'scope' function).

All of the above has lead to a Flavour of the Month issue. It's pretty bad. Right now about ~73% of every instance uses that medium range weapon I was speaking about (from the last set of numbers posted on the forums).

One terrible, glaring issue however, and Hikaru, this relates more to your post:

The fact that the game is server side. Does anyone remember Planetside? Basically the all-time greatest shooter-MMO. It was a client-side game. Just like most every other shooter on the market (the only one in recent memory to stray from this paradigm is Battlefield Bad Company 2, and there are too many complaints about it to count).

Because of this, sometimes it will take a whole clip to down a guy, sometimes as little as 2-5 landed shots depending on whether or not the server decides to register your hits. It's a major issue with BC2, it's a major issue here.

Also, the only indication that you've hit your target is a flashing yellow cross hair and blood flying off the target. The problem is, while your client might expect that you've hit (it calculates their position, and the position and speed of your bullet) and thus display said cross hair and blood, the server might not think the same way.

So it's two-fold. It's a baffling choice really. I'm not sure why they did it, but it means that if you're a fan of shooters, it's going to be very frustrating, unless you live relatively close to the server. So what's the moral of the story? Assuming you're not a moron and don't stand out in the open with a brightly coloured rainbow vest shooting wildly into the air at the first sign of an enemy; The guy with the better ping, wins.

Wow If APB is going to be like that then im not going to even bother becuase there is no reason in buying a game that is full of bs...

Give it 3 months after release. By then, most games like this tend to stabilize and the developers get their feet. It just doesn't have much going for it now other than a hope and a prayer.

If it were Valve for instance creating the game, I'd have more reason to stick around. But RTW have little experience as games in general, and even less experience with the arguably more complicated MMO genre.

But like I said, hang in there and we can see what happens. They should hit production in ~2 weeks.

I've never been a huge fan of "Server sided" games, just because of that fact of what you posted above, If your shooting at guy 20 feet away and you see the shots hitting the target and blood spraying that does not always mean your doing damage to the target.

What pisses me off more then anything in Bad company is when i get the jump on the guy and put 4 rounds into the guys back and he turns around and puts 2 to my chest and i go down. /ragequit

Or here is another senario of cheapness... Ok You put a whole round into a guy with a rocket launcher but he still fires and hits becuase he had on a tiny bit of health even though the shots would kill him in rl...
